All morning, afternoon aappointment_1nd evening surgeries are by appointment only. Please call our reception to book an appointment or alternatively you can book a routine appointment via our online services.

We offer routine appointments and same day ‘urgent’ appointments.

Routine Appointments

The majority of GP appointments are available to book in advance. The range of routine appointment availability is 2 days, 1 week or 4-8 week advance. This is to accommodate the varied needs of our patient population. We try to offer the GP of your choice, where possible. Our trained receptionists will ask you for a brief reason for the appointment. This is to enable us to direct you to the most appropriate clinician, and in some circumstances we may be able to deal with your need by an alternative method other than a face-to-face consultation.

Urgent Appointments

Same day appointments are embargoed for those with ‘urgent medical need’ on the day. Patients with a truly urgent medical need will always be offered an appointment the same day, usually the same morning or afternoon. We are, however, dependent upon your common sense and cooperation.

Please help us to keep the system working by making appropriate use of the services we offer.

Telephone Appointments

We also offer telephone appointment with all our GP’s. This service can be used for many purposes, including discussing results, advice, reassurance, referrals, etc. There are appointments available every day with each GP. If you feel your problem can be dealt with via the telephone, please contact our receptionist.

We try to run to time as far as possible. Inevitably, an appointment can run over time, so please bear with us if you have to wait. To keep surgeries running as smoothly as possible, please help us by remembering the following points:-

    • Please arrive on time for your appointment.

    • Patients who cannot attend their appointment, for whatever reason, are expected to cancel their appointment as far in advance as possible.

    • Remember – an appointment is for ONE person only.

    • Please do not save up multiple problems for one appointment slot. If you think you may need a longer appointment, please tell the receptionist.

    • Children under the age of 16 should ideally be accompanied by an adult.

Practice Nurse, Assistant Practitioner and Phlebotomist Appointments

Appointments for other clinical staff can be pre-booked up to eight weeks ahead.
